Sun Outage – Continuation of trading
Circular No : NCDEX/TECHNOLOGY-007/2010/053 Date : February 26, 2010 In terms of the provisions of the Rules, Regulations and Bye-Laws of the Exchange, Members of the Exchange are notified as under:
HCL Comnet Limited, our VSAT service provider, has informed us that there would be Sun Outage from March 05, 2010 to March 20, 2010 between 11:52 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. for VSATs on INSAT - 3B Satellite and between 14:01 p.m. to 14:26 p.m. for VSATs on INSAT–3E Satellite, due to which trading members may face connectivity problems at different times on different dates based on geographical location during this period. Prediction [according to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)] on the location wise impact due to Sun Outage is attached in Annexure 1 in case of INSAT – 3B & Annexure 2 in case of INSAT – 3E.
Further, as intimated by the Exchange vide circular no. NCDEX/TECHNOLOGY- 001/2010/010 dated January 8, 2010, market would not be closed and trading would continue in the normal course during Sun Outage period.
Members are advised to use alternative mode of connectivity instead of VSAT during the above mentioned period for continuing trading without any disruptions on account of Sun Outage as specified in Annexure 1 & 2. In case members do not have any alternate arrangement and they experience any difficulty they should log out and re-login after the outage period specified in Annexure 1 & 2.
The members who are using other mode of connectivity i.e. Internet, leased line,
MPLS will not get impacted by the Sun Outage.
