Imports of Palm Oil from India witnessed fall for the third consecutive month in January. Imports during the month witnessed a drop of 11.56 percent and reached 608,762 tonnes, according to data by industry body Solvent Extractors Association (SEA).
Good domestic Oilseeds production and better availability of Edible Oils is helping to keep the imports lower, SEA added. During the same period last year, Palm Oil imports of the country was at 688,393 tonnes.
RBD Palmolein imports increased to 196,623 tonnes in January this year from 150,064 tonnes in the year-ago period. Declining trend continued in the crude Palm Oil (CPO) and reached 408,140 tonnes against 530,081 tonnes last year and import of crude palm kernel oil (CPKO) also dropped to 3,999 tonnes during the period, as per SEA data.
