Southwest monsoon off from northwest India

PUNE (Commodity Online): The cyclonic circulation in the lower levels over extreme south peninsula persists. Mainly dry weather is likely to continue over west, central and plains of northwest India during next 4-5 days. Southwest monsoon is likely to withdraw from remaining parts of northwest India and some parts of east & central India during next 48 hours.

KALPANA–1 Cloud Imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of southeast Bay of Bengal and north Andaman Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of northeast and peninsular India.

NORTH WEST INDIA
[J & K, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West UP)

Mainly dry weather over the region.

EAST INDIA
(East UP, Jharkhand, Bihar, Orissa, West Bengal and Sikkim)

Isolated rain/thundershower is likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during next 24 hours and mainly dry weather thereafter.

NORTHEAST INDIA
(Arunachal Pradesh, NMM& T, Assam, Meghalaya)


Isolated rain/thundershower is likely over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya during next 48 hours and mainly dry weather thereafter.

Mainly dry weather over the rest region.

SOUTH INDIA
(Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, A&N Islands, Lakshwadeep)

Rain/thundershowers at many places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at a few places over Tamil Nadu and over Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Isolated rain/thundershowers over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Karnataka during next 24 hours and mainly dry weather thereafter.

WEST INDIA
(Goa, Maharashtra(except Vidharbha), Gujarat, Rajasthan)

Isolated rain/thundershower is likely over south Madhya Maharashtra and south Konkan & Goa.

CENTRAL INDIA
(Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Vidarbha(part of Maharashtra)

Mainly dry weather over the region.
