China, ArcelorMittal toppers in steel in 2008
China is on top as the world’s largest producer of steel producing 500.5 million metric tonnes (mmt) while Arcelor Mittal is on top as the largest steel producing company, according to the 2009 editon of World Steel in Figures published by the World Steel Association.
