China crude steel output rises in Nov, falls sharply in Japan in 2012

China’s crude steel production rose 1.6% to 1.957 mn tons for the first ten days in November while Japan’s crude steel output registered its biggest fall in nine months in October, as a decline in domestic car production and an increase in imports of construction steel reduced demand, Reuters reported.

In China, rise in steel prices prompted mills to increase output on rally in steel prices.Large steelmakers in the world's top steel producer boosted output in the period to 1.638 million tonnes per day, up by around 8 percent from Oct. 21-31, Reuters quoting data from the China Iron & Steel Association (CISA) said.
