Pepper up in spot
Pepper prices at the benchmark Kochi market were quoted at higher rates tracking
Pepper futures and reports of delayed harvesting of pepper in Vietnam, the major producer.
Pepper Futures continued its upward move and touched a high of Rs.14050/qtl and ended the day positively on Thursday.
Lacklustre demand continues to prevail in the overseas as the buyers are following a wait and watch stance. Pepper prices in the international market of Vietnam Asta grade at $2,975/tonne, Indian Asta grade $3,300-3,350/tonne(c&f).
Spread between March and April contract is at 250. Black
Pepper stocks in the NCDEX warehouse stood at 2737 mt as on 17th March,2010.
