Spot prices at the major domestic mandis were quoted at higher rates due to better offtakes by the stockists on Thursday.

Domestic mandis in Erode and Nizamabad witnessed reduced arrivals of around 12 and 10 thousand bags respectively.

There are reports that the production estimates which were earlier estimated at 55 lakh bags is currently being revised at 50 lakh bags.

Turmeric futures witnessed a very volatile session on Thursday touching both the upper and lower freeze and ended the day negatively on Thursday.

Spread between the Apr and May contract is at -277.
