Turmeric spot mkt gains on offtakes
Spot prices at the major domestic mandis were quoted at higher rates amidst better arrivals and offtakes on Saturday.
Domestic mandis in Erode and Nizamabad witnessed improved arrivals of around 20000 and 12000 bags in Erode and Nizamabad mandis respectively.
Demand from the local stockists has improved ahead of marriage season.
Turmeric futures continued their upward move in the beginning of the session but declined sharply towards the end and hit the lower circuit of 4% and settled lower on Saturday.
Spread between the Apr and May contract is at 23.
