Chana supply better, so is demand

Firm sentiments prevailed across major spot markets of Chana on good demand and steady supplies.
Stocks at NCDEX warehouses stood at around 22553 MT as on 3rd November, 2009.
For 2009-10 Canadian Chickpea production is likely to double which would increase the supplies in the international markets.
According to the latest release of Ministry of Agriculture, Area under Pulses was reported to be 101.28 lakh ha which is 5.3 lakh ha more than the area covered up to the corresponding period of last year. Major increase was in Tur crop (1.5 lakh ha.) in the State of Maharashtra and in Moong crop (1.6 lakh ha.) in the State of Karnataka.
