Benchmark Unjha prices were quoted at higher rates due to steady arrivals of 5000-6000 bags against offtakes of 15000 bags on Saturday.
Prices at the futures witnessed sideways to up movement in the beginning of the session and touched a high of Rs.12,845/qtl from the earlier losses of the previous day and settled positively on Saturday.
Demand from the domestic stockists as well as overseas is expected in the coming days.
There are lower stocks of jeera at around 9 lakh bags as compared to 12 lakh bags in the previous year.
Jeera prices in the international market of various origins are as follows India quoting at $2,400/tonne, Syria and Turkey at $2,800/tonne whereas China was not offering the commodity.
