Spot market prices witnessed higher on account of better demand from millers and higher prices of other oilseeds on Thursday.
Arrivals of mustard seed were increased to 25,000 bags on Thursday from 22,000 bags previous day in major mandis of Rajasthan as compared to previous day (1 bag=85 kg).
The benchmark November contract on Hapur exchange, mustard seed ended higher at Rs 538.00/20 Kg on Thursday, up Rs 1.25 per 20 Kg as compared to previous day.
Statistics Canada released its latest canola production on Friday. It pegged that crop at 10.27 million tonnes, up from last month, but 18.8% below last year's total. The number was also below trade expectations.
