Indian rupee extended losses in afternoon trade Tuesday, in line with the domestic share market, while a pause in the dollar's slide versus major units also hurt.

The partially convertible rupee was seen trading at 47.24 per dollar at 3.35 p.m weaker than its previous close of 46.96 per dollar.
