Indian rupee opened slightly up Wednesday on expectations of higher local shares.

However analysts said dollar’s gains versus major currencies might limit rupees gains.

The partially convertible rupee was seen trading at 46.26 per dollar at 9.45 a.m, stronger than its previous close of 46.30 per dollar.
