Swiss franc dips vs euro

The euro spiked to a new daily high versus the Swiss franc Thursday morning after news reports said Swiss National Bank repeated its readiness to intervene in the foreign exchange market if needed.

The euro, which had traded around 1.52 francs before the comments jumped to a high of 1.5244 francs and remains 0.2% higher on the day at 1.5228 francs.

Traders say the SNB has intervened in foreign exchange markets as recently as last month to buy euros and sell Swiss francs.
