Rupee opens in the red against dollar |

Indian rupee opened in the red against the dollar in late morning trading Wednesday as demand for dollar by oil refiners hit its high amid a recent surge in crude prices.
At, 11.30 a, the partially convertible rupee declined to 43.83/84 a dollar in the morning deals, down 0.25 percent from Monday's close of 43.59/60.

All bullion contracts showed negative trend. Gold December 09 contract went down by 1.80% to Rs 14408 per 10 grams. Gold M July 09 contract shrank by 1.51% at Rs 14452 per 10 grams. Gold guinea July 09 contract went down by 0.71% to Rs 11467 per 8 gr |
