LONDON (Commodity Online): The US Natural Gas trading session started with momentum at the open and held gains through the day. As a result, today's move higher erased last week's slow trickle lower, with seven to eight cent gains across most contracts through 2012.
The prompt contract was up eight cents, to $3.78, while calendar 2012 rose seven cents, to $4.36. Cold weather is in the forecast, first in the East (in the 6-10 outlook) and then in the West (in the 11-15 day outlook).
Tropical Storm Ophelia broke up as expected, and now her brother, Philippe, is also considered to be of little threat to North America.
In an unusual day, cash markets were up at all points. Henry Hub rose seven cents, trading at $3.80. SoCalBorder picked up eight cents, to $4.00, while New York (Transco-Z6) jumped 18 cents, to $4.09.
