MUMBAI (Commodity Online): Cardamom prices moved down on Monday as speculators indulged in reducing profits on the back increased supply amid lower demand in the spot market.

MCX cardamom April contract fell by Rs 7.60, or 0.64%, to Rs 1,201.90 per kg with a business volume of 742 lots. Similarly, May contract declined by Rs 5.30, or 0.44%, to Rs 1,222 per kg in 107 lots.

In the Cardamom auction held today at Cardamom Planters' Association, Bodinayakanur. The average and maximum prices are Rs 978.00 and Rs 1034 a kg. The arrivals and offtakes were 9,313 kg and 9109 kg.
