MUMBAI (Commodity Online): Maize futures in NCDEX declined Monday on profit booking by the traders though firm demand in the spot markets limited the downtrend.
In NCDEX Maize August contract traded in the afternoon session at Rs.1462 per quintal, fell by 2.16% and open interest of the contract stood at 26310 lots for the time being.
A few big traders were reportedly buying actively for exports as well as domestic destinations. With only about 10-15 days left for the sowing window,occurrence of rainfall in Karnataka is very important to see an increase in maize acreage.
