MUMBAI (Commodity Online): Chilli futures ended lower on Monday on poor demand from the domestic markets amid higher arrivals.
In NCDEX chilli February contract closed at Rs.5192 per quintal, down by 3.02 per cent against the previous close.
In the morning session the contract traded at a range of Rs.5158-5422 per quintal. Open interest of the contract stood at 1350 lots and volume traded is 1645 lots.
Andhra Rabi chilli area as on February 8th is reported 0.50 lakh ha v/s 0.44 lakh ha yr ago. Chilli production estimates for this season is estimated around 12.5-13 lakh tonnes v/s 10.5- 11 lakh tones last year.
