NCDEX chilli settles higher on short covering

MUMBAI (Commodity Online):Chilli futures ended higher on Tuesday on short covering by the traders on the back of rising physical demand.

In NCDEX chilli March contract closed at Rs.5330 per quintal,higher by 2.14 per cent against the previous close.


In the morning session the contract traded at a range of Rs.5210-5338 per quintal. Open interest of the contract stood at 3240 lots and volume traded is 1650 lots.


Chilli production estimates for this season is estimated around 12.5-13 lakh tonnes v/s 10.5- 11 lakh tones last year.
