MUMBAI (Commodity Online): Chilli futures gained Monday on fresh buying by the traders on the back of rising demand in the domestic markets. Weak demand from the overseas buyers limited the uptrend on futures.
In NCDEX chilli February contract is trading at Rs.6200 per quintal, higher by 3.54 per cent on 16:05 IST against the previous close.
In the morning session the contract traded at a range of Rs.5930-6204 per quintal. Open interest of the contract is 2915 lots and volume traded is 1780 lots for the time being.
Chilli production estimates for this season is estimated around 12.5-13 lakh tonnes v/s 10.5- 11 lakh tones last year.
