MUMBAI (Commodity Online): Coriander futures declined Wednesday as traders offloaded their positions on the back of subdued demand from the domestic as well as overseas buyers.
In NCDEX coriander February contract closed at Rs.3838 per quintal, down by 2.51 per cent against the previous close.
In the morning session the contract traded at a range of Rs.3822-3950 per quintal. Open interest of the contract is 15330 lots and volume traded is 3980 lots.
Overall sentiment for Coriander remained sluggish due to weak domestic and export demand, and good production estimates for the current season. While, expected fall in daily arrivals on yield concerns due to unfavorable climatic conditions in major growing areas may limit the fall.
As per latest data from Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Department, coriander acreage in the state declined to 8695 hectares compared 16549 hectares same period last year.
