MUMBAI (Commodity Online): Kapas futures traded lower on Friday due to subdued demand in the Cotton industries amid increased arrivals from the fresh crop.
At NCDEX kapas February contract is now trading at Rs.729.70 per 20 Kg, a decline of 3.31 per cent against the previous close.
In the early session the contract traded at a range of Rs.724.60-744 per 20 Kg. Open interest of the contract is 155 and volume traded is 45 lots for the time being.
Higher stocks from the physical markets also pressurized the futures. Reports of good seasonal rains in the producing regions also capped the gain.
