MUMBAI (Commodity Online): Potato futures rose Thursday as traders created fresh positions on the back of firm demand for the ongoing festive seasons.
In NCDEX potato July contract hita upper circuit at Rs.809.50 per quintal, higher by 4 per cent on 13:30 IST against the previous close.
In the morning session the contract traded at a range of Rs.801.70-809.50 per quintal. Open interest of the contract is 1290 lots and volume traded is 45 lots for the time being.
Currently, weather conditions are reported to be unfavorable. Winter crop from Punjab & Haryana expected to be good.
