MUMBAI (Commodity Online): Soy oil futures fell Thursday on profit booking by the traders on the back of sluggish demand in the domestic markets.

In NCDEX soybean February contract is trading at Rs.679.30 per 10 Kg, down by 0.75 per cent on 16:25 IST against the previous close.

In the morning session the contract traded at a range of Rs.677.40-685.90 per 10 Kg. Open interest of the contract is 95400 lots and volume traded is 102960 lots for the time being.

Edible oil imports data is due to release in next week which might show higher imports and port wise stocks. Market is factoring in the data well in advance. Weak palm oil exports are also weighing on prices which might result in higher stock piles for the month of February in Malaysia.
