Hefty overseas and domestic demand for chilli amid restricted arrival took the prices of the commodity to the higher slot on Wednesday in the futures market.
NCDEX chilli Oct contract climbed up by 1.26 percent to Rs 5370 per quintal and Dec contract rose by 0.83 percent to Rs 5675 per quintal.
Analysts said restricted arrival in the spot market due to the lower production amid heavy demand from abroad and domestic pushed chilli prices up.
