MUMBAI (Commodity Online): India’s Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Tuesday started new futures contracts in mentha oil and almond, to be expired in January 2010.
In a circular, MCX said that trading in mentha oil; big brokers are allowed to trade up to 1500 tonnes while individual trader can have exposure up to 300 tonnes.
Meanwhile, almond contracts members are allowed to trade up to 360 tonnes and clients up to 120 tonnes, it said.

The January 2010 contract of mental oil opened at Rs 543 per kg and was trading at Rs 539 per kg at 11.30 a.m. The almond contract could not attract much trade in early trading hours, the exchange data showed.
At 11.30 a.m., the most-traded November contract of mentha oil was trading at Rs 525.60 per kg. Meanwhile, the November contract of almond was quoted at Rs 312 per kg.
