MCX: Metals, energy, agri futures go up

MCX Comdex – The composite index of metals, energy and agro-commodities was up by 0.24% at 2049.90 points, MCX Energy by 0.77% to 1983.40 points, MCX Metal was down by 0.08% to 2491.98 and MCX Agri by 0.06%.

BULLION:
Gold April 09 contract was down by 0.31% to Rs 15501 per 10 grams. Gold M May 09 contract by 0.30% to Rs 15495 per 10 grams. Gold guinea April 09 contract went down by 0.20% to Rs 12195 per 8 grams. Silver September 09 contract rose by 1.77% to Rs 22766 per kg and silver M August 09 contract by 0.86% to Rs 22886 per kg.

METALS:
Aluminium March 09 contract gained by 0.35% to Rs 72.15 per kg, zinc April 09 contract went up by 0.32% to Rs 63.45 per kg, and lead May 09 contract by 1.24% to Rs 69.20 per kg while copper August 09 contract went down by 0.84% to Rs 207.85 per kg, nickel May 09 contract by 0.34% to Rs 523.90 per kg.

ENERGY:
CER May 09 contract moved down by 2.90% to Rs 686 per tonne, while crude oil April 09 contract gained by 0.84% to Rs 2629 per barrel, heating oil March 09 contract by 0.87% to Rs 69.70 per US gallon and natural gas April 09 contract moved up by 0.23% to Rs. 218.60 per MT.

AGRICULTURE:
CPO May 09 contract moved up by 1.22% to Rs 315.10 per 20 kgs, Cardamom June 09 contract by 1.07% to Rs 590 per kg, Jute March 09 contract was up by 0.29% to Rs 2223.50 per quintal, coriander May 09 contract by 3.01% to Rs 4140 per quintal, rubber May 09 contract rosed by 2.51% to Rs 7813 per 100 kgs, refsoyoil May 09 contract by 0.56% to Rs 442 per 100 kgs, chana June 09 contract by 0.70% to Rs 2297 per 100 kgs while kapaskhali April 09 contract by 0.99% to Rs 522.40 per 50 kgs, mentha oil March 09 contract went down by 0.37% to Rs 570.40 per 100 kgs, potato June 09 contract by 0.72% to Rs 700.40 per 100 kgs and potatoTRWR May 09 contract by 0.35% to Rs 775 per 100 kgs.

GAINERS/ LOSERS:
Tin March 09 contract gained by 3.56% to Rs 560 per kg while CER May 09 contract shrunk by 2.90% to Rs 686 per tonne.

Aluminium slips on higher output
Japanese aluminum premiums for the second quarter have settled lower at $122-124 a metric ton, down close to 6% from the previous quarter as more material has become available.
