Kazakhstan Copper, Lead export up

Kazakhstan exported 303,300 metric tons of refined copper and copper alloys in January-September, some 13.5% more than in the corresponding period in 2006, the national statistics authority reported Wednesday.
The exported copper was worth $2.063 billion, an increase of 27.1% on the year.
Lead export during the period increased 8.3% on the year to 82,100 tons. The exported lead was worth $159.7 million, 111% more than a year ago.
Zinc export fell 3.5% on the year to 235,700 tons. The exported zinc was worth $813.6 million, 51.1% more than in January-September 2006.
The export of alumina fell 6% to 14,100 tons worth $16.9 million, which is 2.4% less than in January-September 2006.
