Cardamom edges lower on arrivals
Cardamom futures edged lower due to the arrivals sentiments from the major producing areas.
Harvesting has already started in the major growing areas and arrivals are expected to full swing in coming days.
Intermittent rain in the growing areas cause difficulty in harvesting and mount the fear of quality erosion.
The domestic as well as export demand is expected to increase on seasonal buying ahead of Diwali and Ramzan.
According to market sources the cardamom production is expected around 20,000 tons and the previous average production is around 23,000 tons.
According to AMIC the cardamom prices for the current season likely to stay above Rs 1000 per Kg due to limited arrivals and steady demand
