NCDEX turmeric falls, buy above Rs.5000: Edelweiss

Turmeric prices closed steady due to lack of export demand and selling pressure in the future contract on account of fresh supplies in the spot market.


Turmeric production for the year 2011‐12 is projected at 82 lakh bags (1 bag= 70 kgs) compared to 69 lakh bags in 2010‐11.


Turmeric arrivals in the Nizamabad mandi were around 15,000 bags.
