Turmeric still bearish on sluggish demand
Turmeric futures continued its bearish sentiments due to sluggish domestic as well as overseas demand.
Spot prices traded on an average of 13200 and arrivals stood 5500 bags against previous arrival of 4000 bags.
Better cultivation in the major growing areas ignited the expectation of increase in output in 2010-11.
As per government official estimates, area under cultivation in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka has risen 21.5 percent and 19 percent respectively in 2010/11.
