MUMBAI: Leading actress Karishma Kapoor launched Jewel World, western India’s first jewellery mall in Zaveri Bazaar.
The mall was developed by Vardhman Group, one of the leading real estate companies in India. Jewel World seeks to restore the lost glory of the historic Cotton Exchange building in Zaveri Bazaar, Mumbai. The mall was launched by actor Karishma Kapoor along with Mr. Rajesh Vardhan.

Jewel World will be the first high end retail project to comprise speciality retailing catering to consumers looking to purchase jewellery. Spread over 80,000 sq.ft, the luxury destination, located in the heart of the jewellery precinct of Mumbai, promises to change benchmarks in the Indian retailing industry.

Vardhman Group predicts that ‘Whole Jewellery Retail (WJR)” formats will change the dynamics of the retailing industry in over the next five years.

Set in the jewellery hub of the country, Jewel World will provide consumers an unrivaled jewellery shopping experience. Bringing many firsts to India, Jewel World will feature leading international and national brands under one roof. Vardhman Group’s Jewel World has roped in prime tenants such as Pranda, Dia Jewels, Al-Kans, Emralds, etc, according to Vardhman Group.

Mr. Rajesh Vardhan, Managing Director, Vardhman Group, stated: “I am pleased that the Vardhman Group will be one of the pioneers of WJR in the country. Vardhman Group envisions the future from the perspective of the target audience. As Indians move up the value chain, large format retail combined with themed shopping environments will drive Indian retailing. This is the need that Jewel World seeks to fulfill. Our research team had predicted the demand for such formats in the country. While we have seen a large growth of modern retail formats so far there have been no specialized formats catering to specific needs. With Jewel World we look forward to changing the current norms in the retailing industry and our plans for this segment are very aggressive.”

The Group is looking to expand with more WJR formats in the country over the next two years starting with four more malls in Mumbai. (Courtesy: IndiaPRWire)
