NEW DELHI (Commodity Online): India's rice procurement reached 21.83 million tons (accurately 218,33,477 tons) as of 2nd February for the Kharif Marketing season 2011-12, according to the data provided by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The present rice porcurement is 19.09million tons (190,97,723 tons) more than the corresponding day of last marketing season.

Punjab procured 77,31,325 tons of rice followed by Chhatisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Haryana.
