Heavy arrival of onions in the largest Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) markets in Nashik district has been reported.

According to official about 1532 tractors containing 45,960 quintals of the 'unhal' variety of onions arrived at the Lasalgaon APMC market.

Around 20,430 quintals were auctioned within the price range of Rs 471 to Rs 825 per quintal with an average of Rs 621 per quintal.

Earlier in May 2008, 36,720 quintals of onion were auctioned at a maximum price of Rs 360 per quintal and at an average of Rs 241 per quintal.
