Coir products export drops in March

KOCHI : India’s coir product exports for the month of March this year dropped by 12.85 percentage to 15,618 metric tones compared with figures of March last year, said Coir Board.

In a report issued here Coir Board said exports worth Rs 4503.88 lakhs for March was Rs 664.35 lakhs shorter than last March’s Rs 5168.23 lakhs.

Coir mats and coir piths remained as top exporting items with 5028 metric tones and 7900 metric tones were exported respectively while 1688 metric tones of coir fibre was also exported during the period.
