India’s food inflation rises on high prices in vegetables

NEW DELHI (Commodity Online): India food inflation rate spurted for the week ended October 31 as against the previous week mainly because of hovering vegetable prices.

The food inflation rate surged from last week’s 13.39% to 13.68%, in which potatoes and onions are major drivers.

During the week, prices of bajra increased 3 per cent, fruits and vegetables 2 per cent and jowar, wheat and arhar by one per cent each.
