NEW DELHI (Commodity Online): India will continue previous price range of minimum exports price of onion for October as it has been found that the wholesale prices of the commodity in the domestic market remained more or less stable.

A senior official of NAFED, a nodal agency for export and import of agri products, said the government has decided to keep an average of $215-220 a tonne for the month of October as wholesale prices are more or less stable.

Earlier, the government had hiked the MEP of onion in order to ensure the availability of the commodity in the domestic market. India exported 8.96 lakh tonnes of onions till August-end, against 7.81 lakh tonnes a year earlier.
