Malaysia’s palm oil output may dip slightly
Published on: October 20, 2009 at 14:55
KUALA LUMPUR (Commodity Online): Malaysia’s palm oil output is expected to witness a marginal dip to 17.5 million metric tonnes in 2009 as compared to last year.

However, the production would remain higher since the record production of 17.7 million tonnes last year. Palm oil harvest was affected due to heavy rains in Sarawak and Sabah states earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Sabri Ahmad, chairman of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board, said that the decision to trim the use of fertilizer in the field caused expected output decline.
