NTPC coal fires Khalgaon project in Bihar

NEW DELHI: NTPC Ltd has successfully coal-fired the second 500 MW unit of expansion stage of Khalgaon project in Bihar, after its successful test synchronization

The Third 500 MW unit of the project is being readied for the boiler light up activities. The project has an approved capacity of 2340 MW comprising of two stages.

The first stage has four units of 210 MW capacity each and the second expansion stage has three units of 500 MW. The present installed capacity of the project is 1840 MW, supplying power to the states in the Eastern, North East, Western and Northern Region.

Besides, the 5th unit of 500 MW at NTPC Sipat situated in Chhattisgarh is also slated for Coal firing in a few days. The unit four of Sipat project is already under commercial operation since June this year.

The present installed capacity of Sipat Project is 1,000 MW with ultimate target of 2980 MW. The Sipat has three units of 660 MW capacity each in stage-I which are also under construction and the Stage-II of the project has two units of 500 MW each which are already operational. The beneficiaries of the project are Western and Southern Region States.

Presently, Company has a total installed capacity of 29894 MW from 26 power stations including JVs. The NTPC stations achieved highest ever generation of 97.535 billion units at a Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 87.4 percent in the first half of this fiscal.
MCX SOYABEAN 20 February 2012 contract was trading at Rs 2475 . What's your view on it?
