Published on: September 04, 2009 at 16:45
BANGKOK (Commodity Online): Thai government has introduced standard price pattern for rice that to be used as a reference under the government's price-guarantee scheme in order to maintain price stability and subsidy.

Permanent-Secretary of the Commerce Ministry, Siripol Yodmuangcharoen said the special price would be announced every seven or 15 days and this would facilitate a better payment to farmers from millers and traders.

So far, the government has guaranteed the prices for white paddy rice at Bt10,000 PMT and Bt15,300 for jasmine rice, he said.
