The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Companies held its annual conference in HCM City on November 4 with the main theme of how to overcome the economic crisis and opportunities for natural rubber products.
In addition to the newly grown rubber trees in traditional areas, at present, many enterprises have grown rubber trees in new areas of Northwest regions and in Laos, Cambodia, South Africa and Myanmar.
In details, there are about 30,000 hectares of rubber trees in Laos and about 2,000 hectares in Cambodia.
Despite the world economic crisis and low rubber price, the country's rubber export turnover has reached approximately $1 billion up to now.
