Commodity Online HANOI: Vietnamese rice exporters are asking the government to raise this year’s target for rice exports to 5.2 million tons from the 5 million tons approved earlier this year, an industry official said.
So far this year, harvesting of the winter- spring paddy rice crop in the Mekong Delta region has resulted in about 5 million tons of exportable rice, said the official with the state-run Vietnam Food Association.
