CAPE TOWN (Commodity Online): Mining Company owners and its stake holders are busy meeting in South Africa – home to some of the biggest mining reserves in the world – to discuss future of mining.
A tradition since the last 18 years and known as Mining Indaba, the African mining majors conference will end this Thursday after a four day long deliberations.
Indian companies are among those who are attending the conference as they expect strong business opportunities in the wake of higher demand of metals both industrial and otherwise.
Since the past 18 years more than 6,500 individuals representing more than 1000 international companies and approximately 40 African and non-African government delegations have been attending the conference.
This year there has been huge interest from India and China to have a bigger role and greater participation.
A similar type Asian edition is expected to take place October this year to primarily capitalise and develop mining interests in Asia.
