China completes East Siberian crude pipeline
BEIJING (Commodity Online) : After completing the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline (ESPO), China is now ready to accept crude oil from Russia.
According to Chinese Energy ministry, the country is scheduled to receive 15 million tons of crude oil from Russia annually over the next 20 years.
The ministry said it is expected to start delivering oil to refineries in Daqing in country’s Heilongjiang province in October this year.
In early March, China has finished the construction of a tunnel under the Amur River to accommodate the extension of a pipeline of the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline
More than 80 Chinese workers have been involved in the drilling of a 1,900-meter tunnel on the Russian-Chinese border since September last year.
The branch runs from Skovorodino in Russia's Far East to China's north-eastern city of Daqing.
