Commodity stocks showing renewed heft
MUMBAI (CommodityOnline): Asian share markets were solidly higher Tuesday after a strong night on Wall Street, with commodity stocks showing renewed heft and Posco helped by its better earnings outlook.
• The Nikkei 225 Stock Average rose 1.9 percent.
• U.S. stock futures were flat in screen trade.
• The euro and U.S. dollar were little changed, with traders awaiting U.S. corporate earnings, retail sales and producer price index data.
• Spot gold slipped to $918.40 a troy ounce, from $923.30 late in New York.
• Front-month Nymex crude oil futures were 40 cents higher on Globex, at $60.09 a barrel, after slipping 20 cents in New York.
