India's farm lands all set for the monsoon which is likely to hit the southern states in the first week of June with an error window of 2-3 days, according to LS Rathore, director general, India Meteorological Department.
The Southwest Monsoon Rainfall for the country is predicted to be normal, with 96-104% of Long Period Average(LPA) with probability of 47% this year, according to India Meteorological Department.
India may witness growth in agricultural production in 2012-13 as monsoon is expected to be normal. The first official forecast for the June to September monsoon is yet to be released.
Due to the cold weather in the US plains and in Europe threatening the growth of the winter crops, the global price of wheat is likely to stay high for coming day.
