CVI likely to source coking coal mines in NSW
The Coal Ventures International (CVI) is likely to access soon coking coal mines in New South Wales (NSW), Australia.
Jitin Prasada Minister of State for Steel was assured of coking coal linkages from NSW during his meeting today with Mr. Ian Macdonald, NSW Minister for Primary Industries, Energy, Mineral Resources and State Development. Both the leaders discussed matters of mutual interest.
Prasada emphasized allocation of mineral resources for Coal Ventures International. Mr. Ian Macdonald assured full cooperation in meeting the requirement of this company.
Jitin Prasada is currently leading a five-member delegation to Australia. The delegation visited some coal mines near Sydney and Wollongong/Port Kembla Coal Terminal (PKCT) from where a large chunk of NSW coking coal destined for India is shipped.
Set up recently, the Coal Ventures International is a joint venture of SAIL, RINL, Coal India Limited, NMDC and NTPC.
