VAL-D’OR (Commodity Online): Precious metals miner, Hinterland Metals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:HMI) has resumed drilling on the Lockout property located 100km due east of Lebel-sur-Quevillon, Quebec.
The current program will systematically test the Panache Gold Zone over a 1.2km distance. Hinterland identified the gold-bearing zone following a drill program done in September 2009 that intersected gold mineralization in all seven of the holes drilled.
Highlights of the September program included up to 5.2g/t Au over 2.0m within a zone of 1.7g/t Au over 7.0m.
The property is situated in the Barry-Urban Greenstone Belt approximately 4km west of Eagle Hill's Windfall Lake Project and 8km north of Metanor Resources' Barry open pit gold mine.
Intersections varied from 6.2 to 12.9m in width and from 0.6 to 1.7g/t Au in grade. The gold mineralization was found along the contact between mafic volcanic rocks and a graphitic unit and appears to be related to porphyry dykes injected adjacent to the contact.
"Our timing with this drill program is great considering the renewed interest in the area brought on by Eagle Hill. Hinterland's skill has always been in getting into prospective areas early on like Barry-Urban in Quebec and White Gold in Yukon," comments Mark Fekete, President and CEO of Hinterland.
