Holdings in Silver ETFs fall by 871,855 ounces

Physical silver holdings in the seven monitored silver-backed exchange-traded funds were seen dropping 871,855 ounces or 27.118 tonnes (-0.21 pct) in the week from February 18th up to and including February 25th, official data showed on Friday.

One of the seven trusts that are tracked on a standard basis – excluding the ZKB Physical Silver trust – reported an inflow over the reported interval. Two reported an outflow while four announced “no change”.

Additionally, the ZKB Physical Silver ETF had seen a 965,487 ounces or 30.03 tonnes (+1.56 pct) increase in holdings in the week ending Friday, February 19th.

The ETFS Metal Securities Physical Silver reported an inflow of 935,528 ounces or 29.10 tonnes (+3.71 pct), and was thereby the only one of our standard monitored silver ETF’s to see an increase in holdings.

Outflows were seen in the U.S. ETF Securities Physical Silver Shares and Swiss Julius Baer Physical Silver ETF, respectively at -1,797,383 ounces or 55.90 tonnes (-21.69 pct) and -10,000 ounces or 0.31 tonnes (-0.36 pct).

Total holdings (excluding ZKB data (1)) as such declined 0.21 pct to total 12,779.64 tonnes. Total holdings (including ZKB data (1)) rose 0.02 pct to 14,735.06 tonnes.
